“We contacted Beth for settling techniques for our 20 month old daughter who has never been a “good” sleeper. We discovered at 15 months she had sleep apnoea, but were told by specialists that after her tonsil and adenoids operation (at 18 months) her sleeping issues would resolve itself. But still our toddler would only sleep for 45 mins during the day and wake up multiple times during the night where in the end we would always bring her into our bed. I recently found out I was pregnant and wanted to put an end to this disruptive sleep for the benefit of our family as we all needed more sleep (including the parents).
My GP referred me to Mothercraft for Babies after I confessed I needed help and a specific plan for our unique situation. Beth came to my house for 4 hours during the day and I discovered our situation wasn’t so unique… she was a happy thriving little darling who just needed a bit of routine tweaking and her parents (us) needed a bit of renewed confidence and direction to start establishing more boundaries for the benefit of our family. The advice we received was so simple and logical and easy to apply.
On day 1 our daughter feel asleep unassisted for the first time in a long time. It was also the first night we didn’t bring her into our bed. Day 1 took her 40 mins to go to sleep by herself. On day 2, she fell asleep after only 1 minute of protesting and slept through the night only stirring once but remained in her cot all night. On day 3, she again feel asleep by herself after only 1 minute… I get the feeling that tonight and from here on we will have the same good news to share, as she has learnt how to self-settle again.
